Defendant In Murder Trial Attacked In St. Charles Court Room




Gregory Wadlow, 60, on trial for the murder of his wife, Kelly Wadlow was attacked in a St. Charles Country Circuit Courtroom Tuesday, June 3, 2008.

At the completion of opening arguments the brother of the victim, Lonnie Hiavaty, began shouting obscenities and jumped Wadlow and held him in a headlock.

St. Charles County Deputy Sheriffs used a stun gun to subdue Hiavaty who they then arrested.

The victim, 40 year-old Kelly Wadlow was murdered four years ago.

Later that afternoon Wadlow entered a plea of guilty to second-degree murder. Sentencing by Judge Schneider will be in August.

Man Charged In Shooting Of His Wife




Dale J. Range, 47 of Gettysburg Landing in the Heritage subdivision, has been charged with felony domestic assault and armed criminal action in the shooting of his wife June 2. According to reports, Range shot his wife in her lower back with a handgun.
The wife called 911 and told police she was shot. Upon the arrival of St. Charles County Deputies, Range was found asleep in the home. The wife is at an undisclosed hospital where she is being treated for a life threatening injury. Police have not yet been able to interview the victim.
Range is being held on a $500,000 bond in the St. Charles County Corrections Center.
